By the time you land, drop bags, and call to schedule, you're looking at a Dec 18-22 install date — three weeks of staring at a dark exterior while the neighborhood glows around you. Your local property manager (or housekeeper, or trusted neighbor) gives us access — we measure, install, photograph, and email you the completion shots. When you arrive, your house is fully lit. Your first night, you have the dinner, not the install argument.

How the snowbird package works

1. Sept 1-15: Quote + booking deposit. We email you a Loom video walkthrough of the proposed install based on satellite + property records. 30% deposit locks your install date.
2. Oct 1-30: Confirmation + pre-install photo round. Property manager grants exterior access. We document existing landscape, identify any gaps (broken outlet, dead palm, tree work needed) and notify you with options.
3. Nov 15-25: Install window. 1-2 day install depending on property scale. Crew foreman texts hourly progress photos. Final photographer captures evening lit shots. All photos sent same day for your social/Airbnb/family share.
4. Dec 1+: You arrive to a fully lit house. Welcome packet on the entry table includes your timer remote, our 24/7 emergency line, and the warranty card.
5. Mid-season check (optional): included one site visit between Dec 15-25 to replace any storm-damaged bulbs, cleanup wind debris, or adjust per your feedback.
6. Jan 5-15: Take-down. Scheduled on your departure date or after — your call. Storage option available ($95/season).

FAQs — snowbird Christmas light service

When do you stop accepting snowbird bookings for the season?

Cutoff for guaranteed Nov 15-25 install: September 15. We accept Oct bookings for Dec 1-15 install but cannot guarantee pre-arrival completion. Past Nov 1 we're at standard 3-week wait. The 30% deposit by Sept 15 secures your slot — most premium properties book by mid-August.

What if I arrive earlier or later than planned?

No problem — we set the timer to your arrival date, not a fixed Dec 1. If you arrive Nov 28, lights turn on Nov 28. If you delay to Dec 8, we update the schedule remotely. Same flexibility for departure: take-down book by your departure date, free reschedule with 7 days notice.

Do you work with my northern primary residence too?

Yes — we operate Holiday Lights Decor sister branches in NJ, MA, CT, NH, NY, RI, PA, ME, DE. Many of our snowbird clients have us install both their northern primary AND southern second home, with consolidated billing. What if there's a hurricane between my install and arrival?

All our installs are FBC-rated for the local wind zone (130-180 mph depending on county). For named storms within 48hr cone, we offer pre-storm take-down service ($300-$600). Post-storm: free inspection + included repair within 7 days for active service contracts. Read our hurricane methodology →

Can you do interior decoration for arrival too?

Yes — our interior holiday decor service can have your tree, garland, mantle, and entry decorated by your arrival. Coordinated with your housekeeping crew for access. $1,500-$5,000 depending on home scale + decor inventory (we'll use what you have or source new).
